On Saturday, 9 August, at 12:30 p.m., the \u2018After the Market\u2019 series will focus on self-portraits.<\/strong><\/p>\n

In self-portraits, artists have long grappled with the \u2018I\u2019 and explored the existential question \u2018Who am I?\u2019 From D\u00fcrer’s self-portraits to the social mass phenomenon of selfies, we encounter all kinds of self-representation.<\/p>\n

The world is in a selfie frenzy: every day, millions of people take photos of themselves and post the images online. Self-portraits are not a new phenomenon in themselves. But there is a difference compared to the past. The great self-portraits of art history preserve time. Selfies, on the other hand, capture a fleeting moment.<\/p>\n

The exhibition presents a kaleidoscope of famous works from art history to self-obsessed and silly posts from the internet.
\nPreoccupation with oneself is as old as humanity itself.<\/p>\n
