Fethi Sahraoui was born in 1993 in Hassi R’Mel, a town in the Western Great Erg, a sandy desert in the Sahara. His family moved north to Mascara, a university town in the Atlas Mountains. He graduated there in 2018 with a thesis on the contribution of black American photographers during the civil rights movement and became a full-time photographer.<\/p>\n

His work has been exhibited in prestigious institutions such as the Arab World Institute in Paris. In 2017, he received the Prix L\u00e9on l’Africain at the Biennale africaine de la photographie in Bamako, Mali. His photographic work has been published on numerous platforms such as the New York Times and others. <\/p>\n

Fethi Sahraoui is a member of Collective 220<\/a>, a group of five Algerian photographers, he is a Magnum Foundation fellow and a participant in the last edition of the Joop Swart Masterclass.<\/p>\n
