Scholarship music composition 1.10. – 31.12.2024<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

What made you apply for the otte1 scholarship?
\n<\/strong>I was looking for a change of place to focus quietly and intensively on a composition project. I appreciated the freedom and flexibility given by otte1 to determine the focus of my work myself, without the need to present a final result during the residency period. I was especially attracted to the location of otte1 in Eckernf\u00f6rde, directly on the Baltic Sea\u2019s coast.<\/p>\n

What did you work on during your stay?
\n<\/strong>I completed a work for Violin and Viola Duo, commissioned by the Mizmorim Festival in Basel, and started to compose an orchestral work for the MDR Orchestra. I collaborated with Joachim Striepens (Ensemble Reflexion K), who performed a work of mine for Bass Clarinet. Finally, I also took time to reflect and explore in greater depth the ideas and themes that I would like to pursue in the future.<\/p>\n

What inspired you at the K\u00fcnstlerhaus in Eckernf\u00f6rde?
\n<\/strong>The sea, which I visited daily, along with the relaxed and friendly atmosphere of the town. The comfortable and spacious Atelier, with its wonderful desk for a composer, created an inspiring and inviting environment for work.<\/p>\n

What do you take away from Eckernf\u00f6rde for your further artistic development?
\n<\/strong>The power of quiet focus in my artistic work. I also take away strong memories of the sea, which will surely influence some of my future works.<\/p>\n

What would you like to add?
