{"id":1874,"date":"2017-09-06T12:30:45","date_gmt":"2017-09-06T10:30:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.otte1.org\/bewerbung\/"},"modified":"2025-09-08T17:20:46","modified_gmt":"2025-09-08T15:20:46","slug":"application","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/otte1.staging.computerlie.be\/en\/application\/","title":{"rendered":"Application"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>Artist Residency: Open Call<\/h2>\n<p>Otte1 awards grants to artists working internationally in a wide range of disciplines such as visual arts (with the exception of applied art), composition contemporary music and literature.<\/p>\n<h3>Apply<\/h3>\n<p>First create a user account: register using the form at the bottom of this website. You will receive an email with the information about your user account, after which you can log in and enter the required information.<\/p>\n<p>The evaluation will be carried out by a jury of experts, the selected applicants will be informed and the list will be published on the website.<\/p>\n<p>The application period for <strong>scholarships in 2026<\/strong> went from 1 July 2025 to 31 August 2025 and <strong>has ended<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h3>Focus<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Eligible to apply are visual artists, composers of contemporary music, and writers. Writers are required to write in German. We accept artists at different stages in their careers, working with many different mediums.<br \/>\nCollectives and groups may apply to the residency through our open call. If they are accepted into the program, the group shares a studio space to work and live in as well as a stipend. Please submit one application on behalf of the entire group and clarify in the application that you are applying on behalf of a collective.<\/li>\n<li>Artists should not be enrolled in a degree granting educational program during their residency. If you are currently enrolled but will be graduated by the time of the residency you are applying for, you are welcome to apply.<\/li>\n<li>The residency is intended as a period for research and reflection on the artistic practice. All residents are expected to spend a minimum of 20 hours a week working in their studio. Residents should be enthusiastic about participating in residency meetings and events, including residency gatherings, visits from curators, and a seasonal open studio.<\/li>\n<li>Residents are encouraged to organize a program during the residency that will directly benefit their practice, such as an artist talk, exhibition, live performance, a small workshop, a conversation with invited participants, or other customized event. A small budget is provided for this event.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Studios and Accessibility<\/h3>\n<p>Otte 1 \u2013 the Schleswig-Holstein Artists\u2019s Residency provides the scholarship holders with one of the four furnished studios.<\/p>\n<p>For more information on the available studios please follow this link: <a href=\"https:\/\/otte1.staging.computerlie.be\/en\/studios\/\">Studios.<\/a><\/p>\n<h3>Residency slots<\/h3>\n<p>The following slots are available:<br \/>\n1 January \u2013 31 March<br \/>\n1 April \u2013 30 June<br \/>\n1 July \u2013 30 September<br \/>\n1 October \u2013 31 December<\/p>\n<p>Please specify the preferred seasonal cycle in your application.<\/p>\n<h3>Format<\/h3>\n<p>Please fill in the fields of the application form after logging in. We also expect the following documents in PDF format:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Artist cv<\/li>\n<li>Portfolio (20 pages max.)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If relevant, please also provide us with work samples as links to video or sound files for film and sound-related contributions or to further texts when applying for a literature scholarship.<\/p>\n<h3>Procedure<\/h3>\n<p>Please submit your proposal online. No confirmation of receipt will be sent. The message in green \u201cProfile has been updated\u201d indicates that all mandatory fields have been filled in and all necessary documents have been uploaded. Only selected applicants will be contacted, approximately in September \/ October. Complementary online interviews may be held.<\/p>\n<p>The awarded scholarship holders will be informed in writing by Otte1 about the selected residency period as well as the studio they have been allocated a scholarship for. Due to the large number of applications, we are unable to send individual feedback.
