Provinzlärm 2025 Concert 3

The 3rd concert of the Provinzlärm festival will take place on 22 February 2025, between 12:30 and 13:00 at Künstlerhaus – otte1.

A ten-minute performance by Delphine Gauthier-Guiche deals with the ‘Morning Prayer’ by Jeppe Ernst from the cycle ‘Mass for a human body (The private treatments)’. Delphine Gauthier-Guiche is a musician (horn player) and visual artist. Born in 1975 in Evreux (France), she first learnt to play the piano. She later discovered the horn and soon made it her main instrument. While studying law at the University of Paris, she was awarded first prize in chamber music, natural horn and chromatic horn at the conservatories of St-Maur-des-Fossés, Paris and Boulogne Billancourt. She completed her studies at the Freiburg University of Music (2001-2004 with Prof. B. Schneider) and at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis (2008-2009 with Prof. Th. Müller). As a freelance musician, she often travels throughout Europe and works as an orchestral musician and above all as a chamber musician and soloist who is resolutely devoted to musical performance.

The second part of the half-hour concert after the market is played by Christiane Veltman (viola). She will play the piece ‘war’ by Alexey Shmurak. Shmurak was born in 1986. He is a composer and sound artist and lives in Kiev, Ukraine. After training as a pianist and graduating from the National Academy of Music of Ukraine in music composition, Alexey Shmurak began to explore various fields and practices: classical, contemporary classical and experimental music composition and performance. He has had numerous performances and multimedia projects at the Akademie der Künste Berlin, the WDR-Hörsaal Cologne, the International Summer Courses for New Music Darmstadt, the Muffatwerk Munich, the Warsaw Philharmonic, the Gogolfest Kyiv and the Lviv Philharmonic.
