“After the Weekly Market” Stefan Streich “Gran Duo”

The event series “After the Weekly Market” continued on 8 July 2023 with a musical workshop. In the main room of the Künstlerhaus otte1, the composer Stefan Streich had come together with the performers Beatrix Wagner (bass flute) and Gerald Eckert (violoncello) to rehearse for Streich’s new work “Gran Duo”. The half-hour public rehearsal was accompanied by explanations by the composer and former scholarship holder. The audience was able to follow the composition bar by bar on the basis of two pages of the score. Special instructions for tone building as well as the immediacy and intensity in dealing with sound and time were discussed in detail by Stefan Streich.

In this way, it was possible to impressively familiarise those present with the special features of new music.
